What is DNS?
DNS (Domain Name System)- is a system that serves to translate IP addresses into domain name or vice versa, from domain names to IP addresses. Thus, the host computer sends queries in the form of a computer name and domain name server which is then mapped into an IP address by DNS. For example, when you type an address of a website for example: detik.com, the DNS will translate into an IP address: 203.190.242.69 to be understood by the computer.
