What is Proxmox?

 
Proxmox VE (Virtual Environment)- is one of the Debian Linux distribution on the basis that have specific functions as well virtualized appliance and operating system. Proxmox run text mode, though such proxmox would be easily configured via the web-based remote access.

Why use Proxmox ?? Because:

1. Proxmox open source, so it is free to use by anyone. 
2. Easy installation and configuration.  
3. Proxmox is a VE (Virtual Environment) actually used to make vps compared to using Virtual Box, and other virtualization engines.  
4. Supports various virtual hard disk format  
5. Minimalist and full power in the use of memory because it only takes less memory to run the virtual server.  
6. Support auto backup according to the schedule is determined by both internal storage and external storage.

Some things to note about Proxmox among others:

1. Proxmox only provided for a 64 bit machine so it will not run on a 32 bit machine. 
2. At the time of installation, Proxmox will delete the entire contents of the hard drive. So if you just want to experiment using an empty hard drive or use a virtual machine only. c. If you want to use a KVM (Keyboard, VGA and Mouse), Proxmox require a motherboard / CPU supports virtualization technology.
